If you live in Bahria Town, DHA, PWD or anywhere else in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, you have probably been offered water delivery by several suppliers, often at similar prices and with similar promises. The difference shows up later: a delivery that is late, a gallon that smells off, or a supplier who stops answering messages. This guide gives you a practical checklist to compare services before you commit.
1. Ask where the water comes from and how it is treated
A reliable supplier can explain, in plain words, what happens to the water before it is bottled. You are not looking for jargon. You are looking for a clear answer.
- What is the water source?
- What treatment steps are used (for example filtration, reverse osmosis, UV or ozone)?
- Are minerals added back after treatment, and how is that controlled?
If the answer is vague, or changes depending on who you ask, treat that as a warning sign.
2. Ask for test results, not just a logo
Quality marks on a bottle are easy to print. Test reports are harder to fake. Ask which laboratory tests the water, how often, and whether you can see a recent report. In Pakistan, bottled water is overseen by bodies such as PSQCA and PCRWR, so a serious supplier should be comfortable talking about testing. A supplier who cannot say who tests their water or how often has not earned your trust yet.
3. Check the bottle and the seal
Clean water can be spoiled by a dirty container. When the gallon arrives, check three things:
- The cap or seal is intact and has not been opened before.
- The gallon looks clean inside and out, with no cloudy film or visible particles.
- The water has no unusual smell or taste.
If a delivery fails any of these checks, refuse it and report it. A good supplier will replace it without argument.
4. Look at delivery reliability
For a household or office that runs on a dispenser, a missed delivery is a real problem. Ask:
- Do you offer a fixed weekly or bi-weekly schedule, or is every order handled separately?
- Can I get a same-day top-up if I run out early?
- What are your delivery hours, and which days?
- Does my specific phase or block fall on one of your regular routes?
Suppliers who cover a handful of sectors tend to run tighter routes than those spread across the whole city. Ask which areas they actually serve every day.
5. Get the pricing and deposit rules in writing
Ask for the price per gallon, any delivery charge, and whether you need to pay a deposit for the bottles. Also ask what happens when you return empties, and whether prices change for larger weekly orders such as offices taking five or more gallons a week. Having this in a WhatsApp message is enough, but get it before the first delivery.
6. Test how they communicate
You will rely on this supplier for months. Send a message with a simple question and see how quickly and clearly they respond. If it takes a day to get an answer before you have paid anything, expect worse after you have become a customer. Ordering by WhatsApp is convenient, but only if someone is actually monitoring it.
7. Start with a trial order
Before setting up a standing weekly order, take one or two gallons. Judge the water, the bottle condition, the delivery time and how the rider behaves at your door. Then decide.

Frequently asked questions
How many 19L gallons does a family need?
It depends on household size, whether you also use the water for tea and cooking, and the season. You can estimate it in under a minute with the Biogreen water calculator.
Can I switch suppliers if I am not happy?
Yes. This is why a trial order and clear deposit terms matter. Return your empties, settle any deposit, and move on.
Does the delivery service need to be near my home?
Not necessarily, but suppliers close to your area usually deliver faster and handle same-day requests better. Always confirm that your exact phase or block is on their route.
